Sometimes people come into your life suddenly and things work out so perfectly you couldn’t imagine it being any other way.
I wasn’t meant to photograph Fiona and Jamie’s wedding, but due to unforeseen events my good friend, Eric-Rene Penoy, was unable to cover their day. I stepped up, excited to be able to help. I had some nerves though with such big shoes to fill. This disappeared as soon as I met Fiona & Jamie and was fully welcomed by both sides of their family.
Although spending the majority of my adult life having lived in Glasgow I haven’t photographed many weddings there. My work usually takes me away from cities but I thoroughly enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone on this occasion and embracing the urban setting.
Fiona and Jamie were an absolute joy to work with and planned the most stylish wedding. The Corinthian is a stunning spectacle of a venue and – just how amazing do these two look together? I also especially loved their Scottish Island table names, with the top table being spookily named after my home island Benbecula where I flew from the previous day. It felt like it was almost meant to be..
Thanks to Jamie + Fiona, both sides of their families and friends, who welcomed me in on the day. It was a pleasure meeting you all. Thanks also to Eric-Rene for putting his trust in me. <3 Here are a few of my favourite images from their day:
